Merry Christmas!!!

(Late). I hope you all had a good day. I'm way behind on writing this post but I was occupied on Christmas. We had a good time. We opened presents and stockings in the morning. Then we hung out a bit and then we went and watched The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. It was good.  Lots of killing orcs. Very different from the book but enjoyable. Then we came home and had pizza for dinner.

We didn't get a Family picture unfortunately.

X-mas morning.

Saxon with his new "man bag". Castle blocks that he got for Christmas. I LOVE his shirt. It is so cute on him.

So...Merry (late) Christmas!!!

Lots of love,
Kaylee

Happy Birthday!!!!

Today is Mama's -- birthday. I do actually know how old she's turning but you know how grownups are with ages... ;-)
Today we're all sick. Well not me and Daddy. Mama had a tooth pulled earlier this week and got something done to it and then on top of that she got a cold and a few fevers. And she's just been Blegh lately. Ya know? And Saxon and Bub have had fevers on and off today. Saxon actually had one all day yesterday. So anyways, poor Mama is not having too good of a day because we're all sickies around here. :-( And because of her tooth she can't chew anything hard. So she's making little soufflés right now so she can have a little something to swallow down.  But no special birthday food. At least she got presents! She ordered herself a bunch of crocs and a bracelet and watch and earrings. Then today she got flowers from daddy, cards from us kids and some cups from the boys. I got her something too but I'll save that for the end of this post. ;-) And I would have a picture of her but you know how Moms are about their pictures being taken. (Although I'll excuse her this time because we all look really tired and we don't have makeup on, we're wearing pajamas, and our hair isn't done. So yeah...)
I left her a little note in the bathroom though. :-)
The fine print at the bottom say " P.S. I was gonna write on the mirror with a dry erase marker but I didn't want to without double checking with someone first. ;-)"

I guess that's all. Except my present.... Mama wanted me to be off my cane by her birthday so I put a bow on it and gave it to her to say "here ya go. Take it." In other words....MY CANE IS OFFICIALLY GONE!!!! Forever. :-D  :-D Incase you can't tell I'm pretty excited...but seriously!! I'm free!! It actually is very nice.  I know this might be weird sounding but yesterday I just walked around without it a bunch and for some weird reason it was super easy. And it didn't hurt my foot. Like seriously, today before I gave it to her it was sorta a burden. I was just kinda dragging it around. I know! Crazy! But AWESOME!!! And now I get my permit. Which I will then of course post about. :-)

So yup! I guess I better go. I have laundry to do...  :-/

Lots of love,
Kaylee

And does this look very uncomfortable or what??
She's like stuffed between he back of the couch and a pillow head first and her feet up. Seriously?

Is he cute or what?!?!

Christmas Open House

Forewarning:the pictures are bad because I took them at night. Sorry. :-(

In the living room Mama hung a garland above our big window and hung a Duct Tape (yes, duct tape) wreath that I made.

The lamp shade was blue and it didn't match the furniture in the living room since we took the setee out so we wrapped a scarf around it and pinned it to the lamp shade. :-)
I think it's cute.

In the kitchen Mama had a coffee/tea station and an Italian Cream Soda station. On the island she set a bunch of cookies which very unfortunately I didn't get a picture of.
On the kitchen table she put less "nice" cookies and unsweet food so the little ones could get to it.
I had to include this one because of Saxon.
You can see a mirror in the background. Mama hung pretty plates up next to it. I love what she does.

We have two bookshelves in the kitchen and Mama put real something on them with pearls and holly and candles. It's very pretty.
You can see me in the mirror in this picture.  And Piersen...and Saxon. :-)

We had a really good time. The first people to get here got here around 1:03 I think. The last people to leave left at 10:00 or a little later. Yes, it was only 1:00-6:00 but it was just one famiy and they and Mama and Daddy chatted for a while.

A few random pictures. :-)

Millie all curled up on daddy's jacket.

The bow that was in Millie's hair from the groomers. But it fell off and she wouldn't let me put it back on. :-(

Millie's Christmas collar. It's very loud and annoying at night.

See her bow? It's so cute.

Saxon in an apron because he was helping Mama cook. :-)

All of the snowflakes I made and hung. That isn't even all of them.

So he looks weird in this photo, but seriously?!?! I made him put his green plaid shirt on and put a black bow tie on him. IT WAS SOOO CUTE!!! He wouldn't wear it for the Christmas Party though. :-(

The doctor told me I could only wear sneakers or lace up combat boots so Mama bought me a pair of boots. I still have to wear my brace (hence the fat left ankle). But I'm so happy. I can wear my skinny jeans!!!! I can wear my skirts to church!!!!! And plus, I love lace up combat boots. I'm hoping the left boot doesn't get too stretched out so when I don't have a brace I can still wear them without looking stupid.

I guess that's all.

Hugs and Kisses,
Kaylee

Conference

So on Friday we got up at 5:30 (I did at least). We all got ready and left the house a bit late (8:45). After arriving  (which we ended up not being the only late ones)we listened to a talk. And then a break. And a talk, and a talk. Then lunch. A talk, a talk, a break. Talk, dinner. A talk, and one final talk. LOTS of talks. And then we drove home. Oh and add a bunch of bathroom breaks up there too. ;-P so that was our day. 9:00am-9:00pm. We were gonna go Saturday too but the neighbors needed their car. It was fun though. I think Mama and Daddy really enjoyed it.

Yes, our car is still messed up. :-( Daddy and the neighbor are gonna try to fix it today. It's really annoying them because it's a really easy fix. They just can't reach it. :-/

I also updated my "My Family" page. I don't have a picture of Daddy or Mama yet but I do have their descriptions.

Our Christmas Open house is coming up this Saturday the 14th so be ready for lots of pictures. I want to take pictures of all Mama's yummy food  :-D

And then Mama's birthday is the weekend after that, Saturday the 21st. I'll have a post about that too.

So, yup! Lots of stuff.

Hugs and Kisses,
Kaylee

Car and Dog

Yes, another post. I'll be posting often lately because we'll have a lot going on. So yeah, car and dog.

Car: Our car is messed up. And it's easy to fix but the part that has to be fixed is really hard to get to so we'll either have a mechanic fix it or someone from church come over and help. It's so messed up it's undrivable (Is that even a word?.. :-/ ). The power steering fluid hose is busted...or something like that. :-/ So today we're borrowing the neighbors car to go shopping and go the post office. If we don't get the car fixed by tonight we're gonna have to use their car to go to the conference this weekend. Which Mama and Daddy don't really want to do. Because it's in Anchorage Friday and Saturday and they don't like borrowing someone else's expensive car a lot. So anyhoo...!

Dog: My dog. Millie. She's a smart dog. I was kinda slow to start training her to do stuff. But she knows "sit" and I've only been teaching her "lay down" this week and she's pretty much got it down. Like I said, she's smart and she learns fast. And yes, I'm bragging about my dog.  Because she's mine and I'm gonna brag about her being smart. Because doesn't everyone brag about their pets...? ;-)

Oh and I've been trying to take steps without my cane and guess what? I actually take my right foot of the floor. I can actually take a little tiny step without a cane. Mama and Daddy were really proud of me. Actually, Mama was kinda so excited it was kinda emmbarrasing. ;-) But anyhoo! Yeah...

So yeah, that's all really...  :-D

Hugs and kisses,
Kaylee

P.S. I was thinking about maybe saying "Lots of Love,
Kaylee" sometimes. I'm not sure. I guess I'll just fluctuate between that and "Hugs and Kisses". Anyways! I'm just being odd now. I don't even know why I'm telling you this...I'm thinking aloud...
And now I'm going before you all think I'm nuts...you probably already think that though. ;-)

ADORABLENESS!!!

I took this picture the other day. SHE'S SO CUTE!!! :-D

This was last week. There's two. A mama and a baby the baby is behind the mama

The mama is on the left and the baby is on the right (these are the same moose as the photo above it. Just so you know...)

Have I made enough snowflakes?!? No...actually I'm planning on making more. And yes I made all of those except two of them. It doesn't  really look like a lot...but it feels like a lot to me...I did a lot of cutting. And folding. And measuring.
:-D

O Christmas Tree!

The other night we put our Christmas tree up! Last night we decorated it. Maybe it's just me but a tree sorta makes Christmas "official" in a way...ya know? I LOVE Christmas trees. They're so happy. :-D We have presents under the tree too.

Our tree!!

I'm sorry, the ipad takes bad pictures.

But guess what happened without me even trying?!?
Not like the really pretty ones but it's still pretty cool, don't ya think?

Saxon's Ornaments

Piersen's Ornaments
(Don't ask how he has only two...  :-/ )

My Ornaments
( I don't know what I was thinking when is chose the top left one...)

My this year one. Mama chose it and I LOVE it!!!
It's a fox and it has glitter on the chest and tail. It's soooo pretty!

Some of my faves!
The bottom right one looks like a dog toy but I love it. :-)

Our stockings!
The red one with the deer is mama's, the other red one is daddy's, the white one with the trees is mine, and the other two white ones are Saxons and bubs.

Pretty presents. The one right in the front with the cream ribbon is mamas that I wrapped. Just sayin'...   ;-)

See the plaid ribbon? Happiness in a piece of ribbon!! For me anyways...

And now I'm gonna brag on my Mama. Because seriously?!?! She rocks at wrapping presents!! And the bow...I don't even know how she did it...plaid ribbon... I'm super happy this is my present.

I used the flash so it's kinda weird looking but I love this present. It's soooo cute.

I tried to take a picture of our Christmas chain and this happened. :-P

Totally off topic, this is how big our Thankful Tree got. We missed quite a few days.
Daddy's orange, Mama's brown, Piersen is green, Saxon is yellow, and I'm red.

Another off topic, here's a recipe link to Dark chocolate chip scones.

They're super yummy we love them. The dough makes a really big mess on the counter though. Speaking of the dough, it's DELISH to eat raw. ;-D a few notes: she divides her dough into three balls makes them into circles and then cuts them into triangles. We just press out our whole thing of dough into a squareish shape and then cut them into rectangles or squares.  Put melted butter on the top and sprinkle with raw sugar. (Raw, right, Mama?) Also, we only cook about 5 at a time so we just put te other ones on a pan and freeze them.
After they've froze put 'em in a ziplock bag and keep them in the freezer when you what a few more take them out of the bag and cook 'em. :-D

And now I have to go. I'll have some more posts coming soon.

Hugs and Kisses,
Kaylee

Christmas-y Theme!

Well, at least as Christmas-y as a background I could find on Blogger. ;-)
Tell me what you think. We put our Christmas tree up tonight, the ornaments are still in the shed. We'll do those tomorrow after church. :-)

Kaylee

A visit to the doctor.

Tuesday I went to visit Dr. Gardner. It went well. I got an x-Ray (and forgot my phone-for a picture) (although the part of the bone that is broken looks fuller-my bone has grown more), then the Dr. came in and had me walk a little to see me on my cane. Then I took all the stuff off of my foot and he touched my toes (which feel fine now) and tapped my nerve to see how tingly it is (still tingly). Then he had me bend my ankle and wiggle my toes and do resistance (which was pretty good). He said he had wanted me to make faster progress but what I had made had been steady and so he was okay with me. So...yup!! It went pretty good. I didn't have to have my brace off too long (which is always a relief).

It snowed practically all day Monday.

Saxon and I (at bedtime )

Happy Thanksgiving!!!! I hope yours is good and happy! We'll be going over to a couples house from church with a few other people.

I guess I better be going now.

Hugs and Kisses,
Kaylee

Snow!!!

Last night it snowed. Like a lot.

See? ;-)
Right now all the boys (except one) are outside shoveling and snow blowing the driveway. And I really wish I could be too. :-( speaking of me...I'm getting better walking with the cane. I go to the Doctors on Tuesday. Pray for a good visit please. And a NOT angry Dr. ;-)
Next year I'm learning to snowblow. Because it looks kinda fun. And then I can do it. I hope it's not too hard. Anyhoo I'm being random but I just wanted to show you all the snow.

Millie is watching everyone outside. She lays like this all the time. All funny on the pillows.

Goodbye, Crutches.

You all may think saying goodbye to the crutches is a good thing. Well I suppose it is, except they didn't go bye-bye by me  pushing myself to get off them. They were taken away. And now I'm hopping around on a cane breaking my wrist because I'm a whimp. It went something like this. Daddy told me that I had a certain amount of time left with my crutches. When that time was over my crutches got taken away and they weren't coming back. So...last night when Daddy got home from work I donned on my bibs, a jacket, hat and mittens (because it's really cold!) and I walked outside on my crutches (with daddy of course) to the side of the big hill in the yard. Daddy prayed and I threw my crutches down the hill. Daddy said we had to get rid of them "ceremoniously". And then I walked back inside with a cane.  And don't think my Daddy is super mean to make me do that. Honestly, I've been failing. Really bad. It's been (over?) four months since my surgery. I could walking normal by now. And I'm not. I need help. Prayers. A smack upside the head maybe? ;-P anyhoo..... It's snowy here. And it's here to stay. And if you're wondering if this means I get my permit now...it doesn't. I have to be walking normally (with the cane)- and by normally I mean not hopping around- in a week (by the time we go the Drs on Tuesday) and then I can get it. And my Mama isn't going against her word. When she told me I could drive when I was off my crutches she thought it would be off them on my own accord not by force. So that's why I have to start walking normally and then I can. So...yeah. I suppose that's all for today. Love you all much and miss you all tons!!

Hugs and kisses,
Kaylee

This thing...stinks. It's annoying. :-/

What to pray for: (please)
-I need to be brave.
-I need to walk normally.
-I just need...help. Seriously, maybe I do need a smack upside the head.
-really I just need to do it and be brave.

Thank you! <3

Nerves and Jeans

It's a little late to be talk about my nerve appt. but I'll tell you anyways. Everything went fine. I didn't even have to take my brace off! He was super nice. He said if it's only been three months and my toes are already better and the bottom of my foot is starting to tingle sometimes like my toes did then he's sure it's fine. He prefers to stay away from meds. And he try's to stay away from zapping kids unless it's really important. He said that rubbing the bottom of my foot to desensitize it would be the best thing to do for my nerves. Yeah, so now with him saying that and Mandi always asking me if I've been doing it I guess I better start doing it. I can rub my hand along the bottom of my foot with my sock on and be pretty okay. It doesn't feel awesome but it doesn't make me flip either. Haven't tried anything else. I should get starting with cotton balls. Ugh.
I'm still on crutches. But know what I did? I put on my favorite pair of skinny jeans! They aren't super tight and I could get them over my brace. Super duper happy. They're seriously my favorite pair of pants I have.  I tried getting my brown boots on, didn't work. Tried my black boots, thought those may work since they unzip but they didn't. Tried my rain boots. I think I could've gotten my brace into those, almost did but I stopped when I started thinking about what I would do if I couldn't get it off over my brace. ;-) And I wasn't really all that keen on putting boots on anyways in case Dr. Gardener didn't want me to wear anything except sneakers with my brace. And I went into a store on my crutches for the first time. Don't know why I didn't do it sooner. Felt good to not sit in the car.
I guess that's all really. I miss everyone! Love you, all, tons!!!

K

P.S. I have a few pics of when we went to Fbks. Sorry, girls. We all look really tired. Lol

I made this collage.
L to R top row: me, Abigail. Bottom row: Leah, jarah

Leah and I.

Abigail and I.

Unfortunately I don't have a picture with Jarah. :'-(

Selah and Saxon watching a movie.

There's a black kitten on my chest in this photo. :-D

While we were there the girls were always playing with my crutches. Even Uncle Kenny was playing with them a few times!

Well, I guess that's all. Bye

New brace!

Hello, all!

There isn't too much to say. We had tons beyond tons of fun at the Hoops! But we've been home for almost a week now so that isn't really relevant to now. Anyhoo...my leg is a lot better. My ankle is still really stiff. But we went to the doctors on Tuesday and I didn't cry...until the end when we started talking about my nerves. I'll tell you about that in a minute. I did get a new brace! Know what I sorta just realized last night? This brace means that really nothing is wrong with my actual break. My ankle is just really weak. Technically, I could walk around normal and be back to normal if my ankle weren't so weak. This brace is really just to support my ankle while it grows stronger. But it made me really happy when I realized that really I'm pretty much all better. The only problem is if I tried to do things without a brace I'd probably fall down or injure my ankle because it's so weak. So with my boot I was finally on one crutch but I'm still trying to get use to this new brace so now I'm back on two crutches. I really want to drive though so I may try to get back on just one crutch today. What do my crutches have to do with driving? Well, first of all we found out you don't have to be 14 and a half to get your permit...just 14 ( oh I figured out the other thing I wanted to tell you about. How could I forget my birthday?). Unfortunately, Daddy and Mama won't let me get my permit until I'm off my crutches. When you go to get your permit you don't have to take a driving test, just a written test. So I'm really hoping to get off my crutches. There's still a mental block up in my brain preventing me from just being brave and sucking it up and walking without crutches. I'm trying to get past that block but it's proving harder done than said...don't ask why. Apparently my brain doesn't feel like being nice to me. I really really want to drive though. Ugh. On happier terms...this brace is making me super happy! Guys, seriously *said in an excited whisper* I can wear shoes on both feet!! *back to normal voice* I mean yeah they're just sneakers but seriously, shoes on both feet!!! :-D   :-D  :-D my leg is starting to look normal...well not under my sock but...ya know. Anyways, I mentioned something about crying when we started talking about my nerves. Well, um...I find this to be a very frustrating topic. I still have tingly feet. The doctor said my nerves could take up to a month for every inch that was stretched to heal. So if I stretched 12 inches of nerves it could take up to 12 months for my nerves to feel normal and for my foot to not tingle. Except it's not really my whole foot. Mostly now it's just the bottom that is practically "untouchable" because it just feels...horrid. He tapped my knee and the back of my ankle with that little hammer thing and both of those reflexes are working fine. When he uses his finger to tap on the left side of my ankle it's fine. But of he uses his finger to tap the right side of my ankle it sends tingles through my whole foot. He said there's a big nerve there that runs up the side of my leg. So he wants us to go to the spine institute in Anchorage on Monday...just for a consul. When we were talking about my nerves he told mama about the thing they use to do with a nine volt battery on thier tongue and said the test would just feel like that. I, obviously, was not listening correctly because I took that to mean they were gonna practically electrocute my tongue. Yeah I know I'm crazy. So yeah, that was where the tears started to come...well they actually started coming a little before that but yeah. Um. I mentioned test. Well he said there's a sort of test they can do to track my nerves healing. So then in a few months if we want to see how much my nerves have healed we could take another test and know. With the test we would know if my nerve was dead or alive. The thing is...if my nerve is still alive:there isn't any way we can speed up the process of the healing. If it's dead:we can't bring it back to life. So I'm just over here going: than what's the point too taking the test? Just wait and see if it heals or not. I think I'm able to tell if my foot tingles or not when you touch it. Why zap my leg if there's no point to it except to keep track of the healing? I'm not worried about keeping track of it. If my nerves are still alive then okay, it could take up to a year to heal for my foot to not tingle anymore. If they're dead then they're dead there isn't anything you can do about it and I'll just have to deal with tingles for the rest of my life. Because you are not zapping my leg. I'm sorry. I sound really mean but I just really don't want my leg to get zapped. He says they're probably not dead because they tingle but anyways. Mama and Daddy said they wouldn't force me to take any tests if I didn't want to. But Monday is just a consul to see what Dr. Sean Johnston thinks. So yeah.if you didn't understand any of that um...sorry. I'm not very good explains things like this. So! My birthday! Um on my actual birthday I had cake and opened presents. On Sunday we just went to church. On Monday daddy got to stay home so we had my birthday breakfast and lunch which was Dutchbabies and homemade sushi. Then Tuesday we had my birthday dinner which was Spicy Thai Noodles. For my presents I got: a notebook. Another notebook. A folder that matched one of the notebooks. A binder that matched the folder and notebook. Two waterproof pens. Erasable pens. A watercolor book. And a Starbucks gift card. And a game. I think that's all. I had a lot of fun. And now that I'm finished writing my very long post I'll leave you with some pictures.

My cake. Mama whipped this beauty up in about thirty minutes. Not including cake baking time. Spy the K?

I like this picture of me.

Daddy like this picture of me because he says it's my real smile. The other one is my camera one.

One crutch and a boot to...

Two crutches, a new brace, and shoes!

Smallest thing yet!!
