First of all, it snowed. 2 (?) Mondays ago. There was snow on the ground and it was still snowing. Bub was thrilled. It didn't stick but it lasted half the day (not quite that long I think) and ther was enough for the boys to make a small snowman (which lasted all day). I was bummed. I knew it wasn't gonna stick but it still made me sad. Maybe part of my sadness was just that I couldn't play in it? But know what? When your singing Christmas tunes totally off-key and really loud with your little brother it's kinda hard to be sad. And plus, trees with snow on them are so pretty. It hasn't snowed yet anymore. I hope the snow will be late like it was last year so I can hang outside some. The mountains have some snow on them. The snow isn't quite half way down them yet. So I'm hoping it'll be a while till we get the snow that says 'Winter is officially here!'
Second of all, we are going to the Hoops!!! We're gonna leave early in the morning this coming Monday and we'll be there until Friday. We're planning on getting up with Daddy at like 5:30 am so we can leave the house around 7:00 and hopefully get there sometime around 1:00-2:00ish. Last time we didn't leave until 10:30am and we got there at 6:00. But this time we won't have the dogs (except last time we only had Libby so really just the dog) so hopefully we can longer distances in between our bathroom breaks. The dogs will stay home. We will let Millie roam around the house during the day and the upstairs neighbors kid will take her out a couple times a day for us. I CANNOT wait!!!!!!!! So EXCITED!!!!!!!!! :-D
Third of all, I'm going to be 14. Eek! I'm so happy. And then this coming Summer, guess what I get to do? I get to drive!! Haha! So cool! Ahem, anyways. :-D
Fourth of all, P.T. . Well two P.T. Appt's. ago I went back by myself while Mama and the boys stayed in the waiting room. Which really ended up not being as bad as I thought it was. I got up to 50lbs on my foot. And then I had to try to take a step using only one hand on the parallel bars. My toes would not leave the ground. So she made me turn around so I couldn't see myself in the floor length mirror and try again. And guess what? I did. I went half the length of the parallel bars with one hand. They were tiny little hoppy sort of steps but I was very proud of myself (if I may say so). And last P.T. Appt I did a lap around the room with one crutch. Hehe! I was kinda very proud of the whole one crutch thing. That morning I was getting ready and I dropped one of my crutches but I was just like" eh. Might as well try it with one." And I did. :-) it was like the parallel bars, short little hoppy steps. More like a shuffle hop thing really. The majority of the time I go around on two crutches but I know I need to go around on one. But using one wears me out. Daddy says it's because I don't take an actual step. Mama said the more I practice the better I get. And if I'm able to go from two crutches to one crutch within a couple hours, what's stopping me from going to one crutch to zero crutches by the time we get to the Hoops? Um...laziness and scared for no reason, Kaylee. That's what. But I'll try. I really will.
Fifth of all, umm...there isn't really a fifth of all. Well, I did sleep on the couch two nights in a row without my boot. It helped the swelling go way down. I'm still too afraid to do it in the room. Hehe *cowers* whimp. I still need a bath. I'm gonna take one tonight so my foot will be cleaner for Mandi (the P.T. Lady) tomorrow. And then I'll take one Saturday night and straighten my hair on Sunday so it will be pretty for the Hoopies. ;-) And so it won't be a hassle to deal with.
Sixth of all, (I'm almost done. Promise) My dog needed to be groomed really really bad. We did not keep up with brushing her after I broke my leg and she got um...tangly to say the least. More like matted really. I know, I'm obviously a horrible Mommy. So yesterday she got groomed. And now?...She's a lion. :-D Sorry, Millie. I think it's kinda cute though.
And now I won't have anymore '......of all's. Just pictures. But just a few.
She got two bows but they're kinda messed up.
Got shaved up to her shoulders and her tail is still fluffy so she does really look like a lion.
I caught her in mid-yawn! It's so cute! Jeez, I love this dog! :-D
Yellow leaves.
Potatoes anyone? Two buckets and a bag. These ones are for Aunt Annie. Don't worry, they'll be clean when you get them. ;-) we got almost 300 lbs of potatoes. For free. Our neighbors friends parents did an experimental potato farm to see which ones would grow best in Alaska but they had no purpose for them so we got to go get a bunch. But they're in the shed. So I don't have a picture of those. Sorry. And now a couple different lists.
First list is going to be a thankful list. Because I haven't done one in awhile.
1-we're going to the Hoops.
2-my scab is smaller.
3-half of my foot looks like regular skin due to me washing it. Hopefully the other half will match soon.
4-the swelling in my toes are way better.
5-I can move my ankle way better than before.
6-I got up to 50lbs on it.
7-my incisions look good.
8-my leg looks way better than it did.
9-I can do some resistance with my foot.
10-I can sit normally at church and at a table.
11-it's getting easier for me to get around and do things. I actually went into the thrift store a couple weeks ago on my crutches and tried on jeans.
12-I'm able to read...a lot.
13-I finished the Narnia series. I started Lord of the Rings. I'm on the second book in the Laura Ingalls series and I read the first Harry Potter book and hope to start the second. We let the hoops borrow ours so we have to get it from the library.
14-it's easier to sleep now than it was before.
15-I can sit in the front seat now instead of in the back with my foot propped up on five pillows while Mama and Daddy are hitting my toes and my brothers are squishing me.
16-the weather has been beautiful lately.
17-it hasn't snowed yet.
18-we got a bunch of free potatoes.
*bonus*- we're going to the Hoops!!!!!!! Oh wait I already said that didn't i? ;-P
And the last list is a prayer request list.
-the swelling in my foot to go down
-for me to put my everything into walking without crutches
-to keep us safe on the drive to and from Fairbanks
-for our colds to go away so we won't get the Hoopies sick
I suppose that's all. Thank you, guys! I love you all.
Hugs and kisses,
Kaylee
(I don't know why I said hugs and kisses. Just felt like it.)
