Big Boy!

Saxon can ride a bike. Mostly.....;-) He still needs some practice but he's pretty much got it down. He drags his feet on the ground to brake and over compensates when steering.

He was so cute yesterday. I told him we could practice and surprise daddy in a couple days (we ended up surprising him that day though (yesterday) because he didn't want to wait).
He said  "when daddy find out he say....he say...what he call me?"
Me: "ummm mini man"
Him: "yeah. He say 'good job, mini man!'"

 He's so funny
(Daddy did not actually say that though.) :-P

'Mini man.' ;-)
Sorry for the terrible picture.

Some mountains at hatchers pass. We drove up there on Sunday. It was too snowy up there to hike but the view was gorgeous (it always is up there).
This is the only picture I snapped. When we were driving I was just enjoying theview and wasn't thinking about taking pictures and then this was taken in the parking lot.

Pictures!

Hello!
I don't really have anything to update about so I thought it'd just share some photos. :-)

My adorable brother:
Bub's in the background. ;-)

Saxon and I. Yes, he drew on his face with marker. Yes, I'm in the drivers seat. :-)

By the way, I'm better at driving now. :-)
I don't cut into the other lane when turning now. I'm better about not going so slow. And I remember my blinker....most of the time. ;-)

Mama's adorable Easter cookies!!

Easter 2014. (The boys changed their shirts for church though)

Yesterday was gorgeous!! Sunny, blue sky, slight breeze, perfect temperature. So when daddy got home we drove to a little place where you could pull off and go down to the river. We went their last year during fishing season but the boys didn't catch anything and I had to sit in the car because at that time I was still on crutches and had a boot. :-)
Gorgeous mountains and the boys on a bridge.

More mountains.

Taken off the bridge looking one way

Taken off the bridge looking the other way. :-)

Looking down from the bridge into the water. There's a tire rim.

So the girls (hoop girls that is) and I asked each other some questions the other day.
So I'm gonna start off with Leah's questions.

6. Are you an animal lover?--YES!

7. when you grow up....would you rather have 2 kids or 6?--six

8. What are your favorite names? Five boy and five girl.(I'm adding middle names to a couple:-) -- Girl: Brighid Lenore, Sybil Grace, Bethany Edith, Charlotte, Eleanor.
Boy: Byron, Sawyer, Logan, James, can't think of a fifth one.

Doctors visit

This is late...as always. So the Thursday before last (see how late I am?) I went to the doctors. It was good. I had a couple x-rays (I forgot to get pictures again.....eek! Sorry.) He's pretty pleased with me. I'm practically not wearing my brace ever. I can wear pretty much any kind of shoe (except heels) and without my brace. Yay! I can also walk around barefoot....although I haven't been doing much of that just because it's more comfortable to wear shoes in my current condition. He said I'm about halfway normal which is pretty good. :-) my plate won't be taken out for at least another year.

And just a quick little catch up with what's been going on here lately. :-)

Weather: oh the weather. It can be such a wonderful happy thing but sometimes the weather can make me super angry. So it was really sunny like all last week and almost all the snow was gone and then over the weekend it got all cloudy and rained. I don't mind the rain. I like the rain. So I was okay. But then it snowed. Ugh! I want the snow to be gone! I. Want. Summer. Thankfully today it's at least really sunny. But cold. So yeah, anyways, right now I'm kinda angry with the weather. :-/

Driving: a couple weeks ago we finally got the car fixed. And now I can drive!! It's so exciting! I've been driving almost everyday when daddy gets home. :-D I have a couple problems. One-when turning onto a new road I turn too wide and cut into the other lane. Two-when I'm at a stop sign and I'm ready to go I don't turn fast enough. Three-I go slow down hills. Especially hills that curve at the same time. Four-I always forget my blinker.
So yeah. Oh and incase you were wondering...I've only been driving in neighborhoods. Actually I did drive to Wal-Mart once (!!) but I got there by a somewhat back road. It wasn't very busy.

I guess I'll go now. I'll try to post soon and maybe have a few pictures. :-)

Physical Therapy.

After 40 sessions of PT, last Thursday I finally finished for good! Whew! I will admit, the later it got the easier it got...but it was still nice to not have to worry about it twice a week. And at nine in the morning (which isn't too early for us) but still annoying because when you get up at 7:00 you can't sit around in pajamas being lazy. So let's see where I am now...

When I started:
Boot and crutches
Entire foot (except top) sensitive (very)
Not able to bend my ankle at all :-/
(That's the only "big" things I can think of)

Now:
Brace* and no crutch/cane
Sensitivity on foot much better. Bottom still funny on inner side but getting better (yay!)
Can bend my ankle lots **

At the end I got a free water bottle. Well, two actually cause the lady gave Mama one. You could choose a water bottle, shirt, or reusable shopping bag. I figured the water bottle was best for me. ;-)

* I am wearing an ankle brace with my sneakers but I can take the brace off and wear my lace up boots. Actually, I'm suppose to be wearing the brace as little as possible so as to wean myself off.

** We measured how far my ankle could bend (up, down, in, and out) at the last PT session. The first session I couldn't bend it at all without help. Now I can bend it almost all the way in, out, down, and up by myself. But....my Physical Therapist could bend it (all ways) ALL the way. So it does have full range of motion I just don't have enough strength to do it by myself. Which is why I still have some PT stuff I'm suppose to do at home.

Victory Bible Camp Weekend Retreat

Hi!

Weekend before last we had a retreat with our church. (Yes, it's taken me this long to do a post) We went to Victory Bible Camp which is only an hour away, but up in the mountains. It was gorgeous. Especially the drive there! I have an obsession....with mountains. I. Love. Them. If only pictures did Alaska justice!!! Guys, it's sooooo pretty!!!

We got there Friday evening and stayed until Sunday evening.
We had a lot of fun. There was a gigantic tubing hill where you sat in inner tubes and went sliding down the hill in them. Unfortunately I couldn't go. :-(  Mama said she would've let me but she didn't know how I would get back up the hill. So I just watched. It looked like a lot of fun.
I did get to go on "a one horse open sleigh". ;-) That was fun. My chin got very cold. But...I didn't get a picture. Figures.
On Saturday night I got very dehydrated. :-/ I don't remember the last time my heart went that fast.
Mama and Daddy even started to think about just leaving and taking me to the hospital to get an IV. EEK! Thankfully, I threw up and felt so better afterwards. So I hung out with mama and another lady for a bit and then went to bed. I woke up feeling fine and have been fine since. :-)

Our church would like to do another one during the Summer. I think that would be fun because my injury would be more fully recovered. And supposedly they have horse back rides. :-)

Frozen lake. That's a church lady and her and her husbands dog. :-)

Ok for some reason the red line is not showing up well. :-/  I hope you can see it alright. Anyways, that line is where the snow mobile went up and then down the hill. And I circled the snow mobile. :-)

A snow mobile out on the frozen lake.

The church crew tubing.

The empty-ish space on the side of the hill is where the snow mobiles went a lot.

This view was amazing but in the picture the sun is too bright. :-( It's still pretty though! :-)

A few Random Things :-)

First, one night I left Millie outside to go to the bathroom. She came back in with a rock in her mouth. Because you know...she's weird like that. She was trying to bury it, people. Seriously?  Also a couple days after this I gave the rock back to her (I had hidden it in a bathroom drawer) and she loved it. Tryed to bury it again. :-/  My dog is so weird. Then a week later she found another rock but Bub took it away from her so I gave her back the other one but now I think she's forgotten it. Probably smells too much like make-up. (This was a while ago)

Secondly, I'm a weirdo who finds the need to buy a pair of clear lens glasses. Because I think they're cool. Don't ask.
They're kinda crooked in the picture. Sorry.

Also, if you want to be a weirdo like me I got them here:

Even though they're way too big it's still adorable!!

Thirdly, my dog is super cute.
Proof:
I mean seriously? Yes, I understand I show you my dog in like every post. I just can't help it. She's so cute! Oh, remember when I first got her and was gonna name her Ruby? Yeah, I totally can't imagine her as that anymore. Obviously...

Fourthly, as a lot (most of) the snow melted I got some days to play outside!!
Also, I prettified this picture because without photo apps a picture of blue jeans with a hole in the knee and sneakers on half dead grass honestly isn't that pretty.
(It has now snowed....unfortuently)

See?
But we've had another warm spell so it's all starting to melt again. :-)

Fifthly, weirdness in our house. ;-P

My dog laying in a tree shaped board game box.

Mama made Valentines cookies and she had little chocolate hearts that we had to unwrap for her. I made them all in a neat little tower thingy. Most people would just throw them on the plate. Not me. Of course five minutes later mama had to use these and completely ruined my little tower thingy.
I know, I know, I'm messed up. Just don't ask. Ok? Ok. :-)

* I wrote this post up about two weeks ago and never posted it. :-/ so there'll be a couple other posts coming like right behind this. I tried to put a bunch of stuff in one post when it had happened like weeks ago and it was just super confusing. So yeah. :-) *

Spring?

This is our front yard. Maybe we're going to have an early spring?....Mama insists we aren't. She says that we're just having a warm spell and it's gonna snow and we'll have to deal with all of this all over again. It's super icey!!
But I'm praying for some crazy......an early spring!!!

Oh and also, Saxon? He eats salad for breakfast...wha?? Crazy child. :-P

A year of Pies-Week 2 and 3

As always I'm super late on this. Next week I'll try to be on time. :-)
By the way, I was trying to be a little fancy with the photos this week.

Week 2-
Chocolate cream pie on the left (with meringue topping), French Silk pie up front, and chocolate fudge pie in the back. :-)

Week 3-
A cookie pie. :-)  Mama sorta cheated this week. Our friends from church made a cookie pie when we were at their house and they gave us some dough so we could make our own. :-) It was very yummy!

On some other notes:
We had a super warm spell earlier this week (although I guess it would really be late last week) and everything melted a bunch. It is still very warm during the day but at night it freezes so everything is ice. :-/  It's bad.
I still can't drive because the car isn't fixed yet. :-(  I'm patiently waiting though...I wouldn't really want to learn to drive on the roads right now anyways.
I'm showing you my dog...again. I just love her so much, ok?!

A Year of Pies-Week 1

Ok so I'm waay late posting this...Mama is already going to do week two for church's tomorrow but I do have to post week one. Even if it's super late. Mama and daddy have made this year the year of pies.  Mamas did Week One and did two pies for church.

Coconut Cream. The coconut stuff in this one was made with just coconut milk so it was a little coconutty. Mama put toasted coconut shaving on top. Very yummy!!

This one was regular cream with coconut extract and coconut shavings in it.

Quite a few people liked the second one. I liked the first one. So did Mama. :-)

Week Two coming soon. ;-)

I did it!

I finally went and got my permit. And passed! I got one question wrong. There were 20 questions and you had to get at least 16 right. Once you got 16 right it stopped and you passed. I had to do an eye test and sign my name. I didn't sign very pretty. I have only driven down the driveway...twice. I was really afraid and wouldn't even press the gas and then when I parked I wanted to do it again. Silly me!
I can't drive anywhere else except the driveway because the power steering is messed up and daddy says I'm not strong enough to steer. So I have wait until him and the neighbor find a chance to fix it.

You can see that I have nothing to support me whilst walking. I'm still wearing a brace and you can't really tell in this photo but my ankle is fatter because of the brace.

Cute kid!! (I don't know why on earth this pic turned out so bad. )
